Nowy krążek jest w całości wyprodukowany przez willi.am. „Masters of the Sun Vol. 1” było promowane przez polityczne klipy do piosenek „Big Love”, „Get It”, „Ring the Alarm pt. 1, pt. 2, pt. 3” oraz „Constant”.

„Masters of the Sun Vol. 1” to pierwszy album grupy bez Fergie, która odłączyła się od zespołu w zeszłym roku. Podczas gdy wokale Ferga nie są już obecne w nowych utworach, to pozytywna imprezowa energia wciąż pozostała z członkami grupy.
