And when I started to rhyme he got behind that
On a fruity loops demo making beats while I rapped
And as for the weed, we would smoke a bit
But then it turned to other drugs in higher dosages
He got into a relationship with a girl that wasn't great for him
So maybe he was taking em to cope with it
When those broken emotions mix with opiates
They tend to get a hold of your mind and take control of it
I didn't know it was a problem, I didn't notice it
Until that night I saw him at the homie's crib
And he was all faded, mixing different prescriptions
I tried to get him to stop but nah he just wouldn't listen
So I remember sitting on the couch, I was shedding tears
Tryna think about what could've lead him here
Was it all the drugs that was fucking with him mentally
Was it tainted love, was it all because of ...
That's when he sat down next to me, told me it would be okay
Those were the last words I ever heard him say
So I went home
And I still remember waking up
To his girl crying and screaming he isn't waking up
After that happened I'd lay in the same place he was
And think of that morning the paramedics came to take him, fuck
Think of the night before when I watched him take the drugs
And maybe I could've changed it all if I was brave enough
I'm laying here till my guardian angel comes
Cause I got some demons that I'm hoping she can save me from
When my brother died
I was mummified
Stomach tied in knots
As my father and my mother cried
I found a four leaf clover
Wished he would wake up in that hospital bed
But my apparently my luck was running dry
Now all I can really do is wonder why
There comes a time
We all gotta look death in the fucking eyes
And no I'm not suicidal but I ain't gonna lie
I thought of ending it all just to see him on the other side
But then I thought of what happens if I don't see him
The devil and jesus ain't exactly what I believe in
And the fact that I'd be leaving all my family behind
That's equivalent to getting a knife jammed in the spine
I stand right here with my right hand to the sky
And hope he's looking down from the sun
If those clouds are a balcony
I know he's watching proud of me
And proud of what I'm about to become

I never knew it would've been so soon that you would go
Took your old room and I turned it into a studio
I'm destined for this music shit and you always knew it bro
I even spit a rap as a eulogy at your funeral
Only 13, thinking part of me nearly died
