Track 1 The Illest Villains:
Just an intro but still one of the dopest sample and skit type songs that you will get from anyone. Just puts you in the mood for the shit that is about to go down. Great production too

Yah the beat on here is basically perfect for DOOM, and this is a short but powerful song and one of DOOM’s best. Some of the best quotables in his career is on this

Track 3 Meat Grinder:
At this point my favorite track on the album, but this award changes quite frequently. Madlib did an amazing job with the beat here as well as totally winning with the sample lifted from Frank Zappa. DOOM also completely goes in on it with some serious internal rhyming shit

Track 4 Bistro:
Another skit that has one of the lowkey best beats on the album. Just a luxurious feel to it that puts you into the atmosphere of this project. Ultra amazing if you are stoned or shroomed out when listening to this

Track 5 Raid:
A great song that has lots of growing potential. While I’ve always wanted a second DOOM verse on this, M.E.D. really does fit well on here and switches things up nicely. Also unsurprisingly, another dope ass beat that pushes this song into a faster pace

Track 6 America’s Most Blunted:
This song is pretty much perfect in my book. Madlib has perfect uses of voice samples on this and DOOM and alter-ego Quas both smash their verses. The flows they each use mixed with the beat really make a banger that is fun as hell to listen to

Track 7 Sickfit:
The short instrumentals might throw off new listeners at first, but these really grow on you on repeated listens. This is a pretty dope little instrumental, and it is just about the right amount of time to keep you interested

Track 8 Rainbows:
You will either love this or hate his song, but I really fuck with it. I enjoy DOOM’s singing as well as the whole bizarre ass vibe that I get from this. Another great song for stoners

Track 9 Curls:
One of the shortest, yet strongest songs on the project. Just one solid verse that actually has DOOM getting pretty introspective at times as well as giving you a slight look at his past. Also a really beautifully somber beat. DOPE DOPE DOPE

Track 10 Do Not Fire:
A good instrumental, but the weakest of the three in my opinion. It’s a very good beat actually, but it has some harsh competition on this album. Some really Middle-Eastern and just dark shit going on in this one

Track 11 Money Folder:
Another great beat this a lot more mellow than it’s contempories. A lot memorable quotables on here. The first verse especially is really dope with most of the endings being the same. The outro skit is amazing as well

Track 12 Shadows of Tomorrow:
A puzzling track that is entirely rapped by Quasimoto/Madlib. The beat is amazing and the content itself is a mindbending and tongue twisting poem written by Madlib’s mentor Sun Ra. One that you might not like at first, but grown on you to be a standout track

Track 13 Operation Lifesaver aka Mint Test
Another weird ass song that is just one of the weirdest and funniest subjects that you will ever hear rapped about. I’ll let you hear it for yourself. The production is pretty awesome though, as well as the abrupt ending

Track 14 Figaro:
Basically one of the most lyrical rap songs of all time. DOOM’s multi’s and internal rhyme schemes are just stupid ridiculous on this joint. The beat is another great one too

Track 15 Hardcore Hustle:
Entirely rapped by Wildchild, this was one of my least favorite tracks initially, but it has lots of growing powers. Wildchild honestly has a pretty beastly flow on here, and the track is just short enough to give you a break from DOOM’s rapping style

Track 16 Strange Ways:
One of the dopest joints on the album. Has an absolutely amazing beat as well as two very short yet dope verses by DOOM. On further listens you will catch that he is rapping about the War on Drugs and the War on Terror separately and in a pretty scathing manner

Track 17 Fancy Clown:
Dope and hilarious as hell. Basically a diss track from alias Viktor Vaughn to DOOM. Not many rappers could pull of fighting with them self on a song, but DOOM did

Track 18 Eye:
One of the most flat out beautiful voices that I have ever heard provides you with two minutes of vibed out paradise. Once again this great for stoners, but even sober it is hard not to be captivated by this track

Track 19 Supervillain Theme:
The best instrumental track on both this album and one of the best instrumentals in Hip Hop period. It is short but has lots of organic changes to it. It is hard to describe, but you will realize what is so damned amazing about it when you hear it

Track 20 ALL CAPS:
Yes this is the song that bless us with the anthem for DOOM fans

Just remember ALL CAPS when you spell the man name

Another highly quotable song by DOOM that has a sick flow as well as one of the standout beats by Madlib. The beat switch to the oriental sounding ending is glorious as hell. Check out the music video too

Track 21 Great Day:
Not that impressive of a track on first impression, but this joint actually has some of DOOM’s most lowkey funny lines on the whole album. The beat itself is sort of a self-contained jazzy bit that stays somber at the start but slowly builds up hard as the track goes on and on

Track 22 Rhinestone Cowboy:
The absolute perfect ending to this classic album. The beat has a victorious feel to it as well as the perfect and live feel of the crowd clapping the whole way through to give the villain a proper send off. DOOM himself snaps on this with a funny scenario where he ends the first verse slightly off without anything rhyming with cowboy, so he angrily spits a second verse that he ends right

Final Verdict

Honestly one of my favorite albums of all time. This was #7 on my top 50 list, but I would say that is safely in my top 3 at this point. This is an album that you will probably think is dope, but don’t understand the classic status at all on first listen. I didn’t really think this was all that at first, but there will be a time where something clicks and you just start hearing the project in a whole different light. This is just great with the short track times and the whole different waves of tracks there are. Skits, instrumentals, different rappers, singing, this pretty much has it all

Don’t really do perfect scores, but this is honestly nearly perfect for me
