In this chapter, After Ava has decided to stop grieving after her son and take action. She starts by reemerging the night she lost her son Noah. She grabs her laptop and a notepad and starts her flashback. She begins writing down all the names of the people who attended the Christmas party. She can't whether he took everyone's name who came in through the door, but she gets what she can. She remembers putting Noah to bed and letting him try out his new twin bed

As Ava is still in the mist of her flashback. She starts pointing out specific things she remembered a few people doing at the Christmas party. She remembered her cousins, Ian and Trent playing billiards in the rec room. She then heard Zinnia chewing out her recent boyfriend for not attending the party on the island. Then there was her Aunt Piper, with her shoes kicked off and curled up with a book. While her son, Jacob was outside smoking a cigarette. Ava notice that his shadow took over his whole body that night. Only the red glow from his bud was seen

Before Ava actually put Noah in his twin bed. He begged her from his crib. Ava was a bit skeptical about the decision at first. But s he consider that since he was almost two, he should be put in a regular bed. After Ava tuck him in, She begins to leave, but then notices hes still awake. She goes back in the room in sits in the rocking chair she usually sits in to rock Noah to sleep. She waits until he fully dozes off and walks out the room, but leaves the door ajar. Ava clearly remembers not closing the door all the way. But Jewel-Anne insist that the door was closed shut. Ava knew the wind couldn't have been powerful enough to close it either

During the small investigation Ava has created to ease the pain of her lost son. Unfortunately, it doesn't go as expected. Ava remembered the polices own investigation. Especially sheriff Biggs, his theory, which is what everyone figured. That he could have woken up and checked if any one was near to hear him. Then wandered out of his room, probably looking for his mother. Ava snapped her pencil in her hand in frustration. she thought there was no way Noah could have disobeyed her like that. He never did. The other theory is that he was abducted. That was the theory Ava believed. even Virginia said she had heard something. But Biggs insisted that it could have been anything. With butch ferrying people back and forth from the party and the ruckus from the party

Ava is still trying to figure out who could have abducted Noah. Graciela was helping prepare the kitchen. Demtria had spent the rest of the night by herself. After she was done helping Jewel-Anne attend to her needs. Graciela is Jewel-Anne's personal maid. Jewel-Anne surprisingly has it stuck in Demtria's head that Demtria is the boss of her. A few of the guests admitted that they had left the house through the first floor. And that the elevator was occupied going to the restroom, so most used the stairs. Everyone denied being on the second floor where Noah's bedroom was. Eva threw the remains of her pencil away frustrated
