Man, I remember I used to walk down this path and the trees kept it shady
Then one year some money hungry prick decided to say well maybe
We should build some condos near a golf course to define a higher living
Than what this town is living now
Well... We might not be the richest bunch but we're living fucking proud
If we don't sell drugs or do drugs but of course we smoke our weed
And have a few beers on the weekend and sometimes it's what we need
To escape the daily struggle that we're forced to live through
I know it's not like this for all of us but it certainly is true
That there's always someone else who has it worse than you do
But if you keep on pushing than chances are you'll finally move through
And all the blood sweat and tears you shed will never be in vain
And there will come a time where you won't need to mask your pain
You'll be able to enjoy the fresh air and won't feel so insane
But remember what they say, without sacrifice there will be no gain

First let me congratulate our governments for constantly saying we need to prevent this climate change
Than again nothings been done since 2009 so maybe that's why I'm enraged
I'm no environmentalist I feel about the same
As at least a million other people so when are we going to actually try and save
This planet that supplies our food, and stop concerning if we get paid
Somebody please answer this, when will we ever see the day
Where we think with our heads instead of our wallets
Instead of money we should be donating even the smallest
Amount of time that we can come spare
Why is it that we only act like humans in times of despair
